🌿 “We started dreaming again about what God might do through us.” 🌿
This week, I had the privilege of reconnecting with a pastor in the Portland area who attended a Vision Frame training I led a few years ago. His story was nothing short of inspiring—a testament to the power of vision and how God works in ways we often don’t see. 💚
From Survival to Revival: A Church's Transformation
When he first came to the church, the situation was bleak. Here’s how he described it:
“When we first came to our church, it was barely holding on. They had 25 members, no Bible studies, no fellowship—just an hour and a half of Sunday service. After going through the Vision Frame process, we reframed our mission and vision, and suddenly, it wasn’t just about surviving. We started dreaming again about what God might do through us.”
The result? They doubled in size, launched new ministries, and are now partnering to plant a new church—all because they embraced a clear vision of who God was calling them to be.
The Joy of Learning About Unseen Impact
Hearing about the impact of something I led three years ago was both humbling and joyful. At the time, I had no idea what kind of lasting fruit would come from that training. But stories like this remind me that our efforts can bear significant fruit in God’s timing, even when unseen. 🌾
This experience filled me with gratitude—not just for the transformation of one church but for the privilege of being part of a process that helps others step into God’s calling with clarity and courage.
The Power of Vision: Why Vision Matters
A clear, shared vision is powerful. It brings people together, shifts focus from mere survival to mission, and inspires action. Without a vision, churches can easily become inward-focused, struggling to find purpose. But churches can experience renewed hope, unity, and effectiveness with a God-given vision.
As Proverbs 29:18 reminds us, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” The process of clarifying vision isn’t just about strategy—it’s about rediscovering what God has uniquely called each church to do.

Grateful for the Journey
I’m deeply thankful to have played even a small part in this story. But more than that, I’m grateful for how God has used this church to further His Kingdom. Their journey shows the ripple effect of faithful leadership, clear vision, and a willingness to trust God with the unknown.
